Monday Morning Ms. Jensen’s fifth grade class came to school ready to start the new week. When all of the students came in there was a writing prompt for us to do. We had to imagine we woke up tomorrow and we were already grown up and had children. Because there were people talking (including me) Ms. Jensen told us to stop working on it and turn it into the tray, even if we weren’t finished. Then Ms. Jensen said to take out our music books and get ready for music. All of a sudden Mr. Howell came in. We started with warming up our voices. We sounded awesome! [=
After we warmed up our voices the class sang a song called Pollerita. After music we took a spelling pretest. All of the words were from the first few chapters of The Black Stallion. A lot of people got five or more wrong. Next Ms. Jensen told us to take out our rosaries and line up to go to church. I lost my rosary a week ago, but when I put on my jacket and put my hands in my pockets I found it! When we got back from praying the rosary it was snack time. When we came in from snack we were told to take out yesterday’s math homework and our correcting pens.
After that we took a math test, and I’m glad because we have no math homework when we have tests. If you finished your math test you could work on your spelling packet or read. Next we did language arts. The lesson was about past and present… again! When the bell rang all of us got our lunches, and got in line. When we got in from lunch we took two science quizzes. One of the quizzes had a word search which was really hard. If you were done you had to work on tonight’s science homework. Then we took out our fifty states maps and made sure we had them all and put them in alphabetical order. After we were finished, we wrote down our homework in our agenda and got packed up. Then, we went home, but I had a piano lesson. =(

The day started when my teacher, Ms. Jensen, picked up the fifth grade class from the schoolyard and took us to the classroom to start the school day. It is Friday and boy am I happy that I get to sleep in tomorrow. The first thing the class did was study in Religion class about Saints who are recognized as champions. We then went on to study the new vocabulary words. Next, our teacher handed out a “Time for Kids” magazine that has articles about how water is decreasing very fast, how a boy made a difference, and who won the “Picture of the day” for Earth Day ( It was a picture of baby Hawksbill turtles going to the ocean for the first time). We again wrote out our own questions about the articles and wrote them on the white board and corrected the questions. We moved on to Spelling and checked our workbook pages.

Next, cam our spelling test. The students who got 100% on their spelling pretest were exempt. Reading stations were next (Library, computers, writer’s workshop, and reading comprehension). We were surprised with a Time for Kids pop quiz to test us about how much we learned about what is going on in the world and the questions happened to be the questions we posted up on the board.

Our reading test was next and the story was about a guy that makes foolish choices to impress a girl but at the end he becomes her French tutor. All of a sudden it was Recess! It was a good recess chasing, talking, and eating with my friends. There was a bake sale going on and we bought donuts and milk. Too soon the bell rang telling us it was time to go back to class. When everybody got inside it was time to finish reading station assignments and when everybody finished they could read for a little while.

Afterwards, came math class and we had a timed test, did some mental math, took notes on the lesson, and had a pop quiz. Lunch time arrived and I had a lot more fun with my friends and ate a delicious lunch.

Once lunch was over we all went inside and had the last quiz of the day. It was in Social Studies class and we had a test on locating and spelling the States and Capitols of the northeastern States correctly. We then had a surprise when my friend Brooke stopped by to visit the class. Brook had been on vacation with her mom and had been lucky to go on a nice cruise. Our teacher was also happy and surprised to see Brooke. On Monday she will be back and class and we will all welcome her back again. After the visit we had to add unknown information to our State worksheets for another 45 minutes. Soon we were writing down our weekend assignments in our Assignment Book. We packed up our things and were ready to start the weekend. What a wonderful day in Ms. Jensen’s 5th Grade Classroom

At 8am in the morning the school bell rang. We went up the stairs and went into the classroom. We unpacked our bags and put them on the hooks. Then we put all of our homework into the tray. After that we did our morning work. Our morning work started with logic links it was a little hard but I understood it. Then our teacher talked to us about our classmates. She told us that we had to write a nice comment about each of our classmates and her. The first thing we had to do was to cut out our paper stencils. Then we had to trace the stencils on colored paper. After that we had to past around our papers to each table for each classmate to write a comment about you. Next we cut out leaf, petal and circle tracings to make two different colored flowers.

Then it was time for recess. At recess we ate our snacks and watched the 6th graders play soccer. It was so funny to watch them play. The teams were made up of boys and girls. Therefore the teams were evenly matched. They didn’t keep score so it didn’t matter. It was a good game.

After recess we finished making two different flowers each consisting of eight comments on each flower. Then when that was over we needed to finish our 50 states before Monday. I think everyone is almost finished though. It was so much fun to do the maps of each state because we got to learn about the capitals, surrounding waters, mountain ranges, cities and bordering states. Next it was time for math. In math we learned about Algebraic Addition Activity. I didn’t really understand it, but my teacher helped me. Then she let us have some time to do our homework. Then it was time to go home. We packed our book bags and left.

We had another great day in the fifth grade.

Today, we unpacked our backpacks and started our morning work. For our morning work, we had logic links, and a spring break paper. Logic links is a piece of paper that gives you clues so you can solve the problem. The spring break paper is when you write about what you did over spring break. While doing our morning work, the announcements came on. After the announcements, it was time for music class. During music class, we sang “Be Thou My Vision.’’
After music we prayed the rosary. For the rosary, our class decided to go to our school church. Next, we did our spelling pretest. On the pretest, we had words like: scar, starve, and return. Right before we corrected our spelling pretest, it was recess. During recess, it was burning hot I needed all the water I could get. Then, we came back in and corrected our spelling pretest.
Once we finished correcting our pretest, it was math time. In math we did our practice book, math lessons, and our math homework. While doing our math homework, Ms. Jensen said that we will stop and do language arts. In language art, we did a review of past and future tense. Next, we did one page of language in our workbook. After that, some students did their invention in front of the whole class.

After the invention, it was lunch time. During lunch time, it got even hotter! That was one of my big worries on the day; I’m glad that’s over. Finally, it was Social Studies aka… my favorite subject. In social studies, we learned more states and capitals sang the famous Wacko Warner Fifty states and their Capitals song. Then, we played a fun state game that Ms. Jensen created where we had to name the states in five seconds. I won the first round and came in second in the second round. Then, it was time for Science. In Science, we did a project with our groups to see which object would make the bulb light up. Sadly, the day is over.
Another wild day in the fifth grade classroom!

Today I am the Jensen’s Journalist for April 10, 2009. My name is Kimberley. Today is the last day of school until April 20th because of Spring break! Ms. Jensen came downstairs to pick us up from the playground. When everyone got up stairs and unpacked their bags.

Everyone started the morning work, but the announcements and Morning Prayer came on. After everyone finished the morning work which was the TFK (Time for Kids). On the TFK everyone had to read the article then write a question on the TFK article. Everyone had to put it on the whiteboard. Afterwards, everyone did the worksheet.

Then Ms. Jensen said “Everyone get your rosary and line-up.’’ After everybody lined-up and walked to the Church, people were having mass, so everyone walked to the stairs of the Church. At the stairs of the Church their was a homeless person there. So Ms. Jensen took everyone to Good Friday Mass.

At the mass the songs were really pretty and nice, but the mass was overall powerful and effective. After Church everybody walked back to the school. When everyone got back to the school we listened to tape that read the story of the week that was Catching the Fire Philip Simmons, Blacksmith. The story made me look up to a blacksmith instead of look down at one. After, everyone did the reading and vocabulary test.

The vocabulary test was easier than the reading test for me. Then the bell rang for snack! At snack some people played soccer and some people played basketball. After snack people finished the reading and vocabulary test. Then Ms. Jensen passed out the fifty state test on the mid-west.

It was super easy for me. I think I got an A. Then Ms. Jensen made everyone write down their homework. Then it was time for the invention project. Afterwards, Ms. Jensen said “Everyone bring up your rubric if you are done.”

Josh, Grant, and Reese went up first, they did a invention called the movie-a- Nat or. Then Sharmaine and I went up are invention was called Whiteboard Perfecto! It was a scented whiteboard cleaner. Then Ms. Jensen said”Have a nice spring break.” That was Friday!

When I got to school I saw 3 to 5 kids that were in my class. I thought it was cold in the morning. All the kids had a St. Timothy shirt and blue jeans on. When we got inside we had to do the state maps. I really dislike doing them because they take too long to do. A couple minutes later, Sidni’s mom came to give the class apple dippers. After 10 minutes of doing our maps we chose our groups for the field trip. I went to Sidni’s group. At about 8:30 a.m. Ms. Jensen said to use the restroom before we leave. When all the students came back to class we got lined up and we left. Ms. Jensen said to sit at the benches out on the yard to wait for the 2nd graders because they were coming with us. We waited at the benches for about 10 minutes. We left around 8:45 a.m. It took us about 15 minutes to get to the Eco Station. When we got there, there were already kids there since we took separate cars. When we got on the ramp to go inside there was a lady and she was our tour guide. She told us the number 1 rule is to have library voices.
When we got inside the tour guide led us into an empty room. She showed us 2 snakes and 2 tortoises. Next she split up the groups into 2. Another guide came and took the 2nd graders. The first room we went into was the reptile room there was a snake named Skittles because its scales were rainbow colored. Next we went into the bird room. There was a green bird named Rocco. He was the oldest animal in the Eco Station. He said “hello” and “good bye”. The tour guide said he could say “oh my gosh”.
In the next room there was a stuffed animal that had a sign that said, “too late I’m already extinct.” The last room was the aquarium. The were a lot of fish but my favorite fish tank was the one with the fish from the Amazon River. I liked it because the fish were huge. The tour guide led us to the gift shop where we met the 2nd grade. Only 5 people could go inside at a time. I bought dog treats for my dogs and I bought a glass frog for my brother.
When we finished with the field trip we met the class at Mc Donald’s. I had an Angus 3rd pounder. Of course I didn’t eat it all. When we got back to class Ms. Jensen said, “Since you had good behavior you don’t have any homework except for your reading log.” At 1:55 p.m. we got lined up and went outside for P.E. During P.E. we played baseball. I was so happy because baseball is one of my favorite sports. At 3:00 p.m. the bell rang and we went home.

Today was a sunny and cloudy day with a high of 66*F. Ms. Jensen picked us up right after the bell rang. After we climbed the stairs with our heavy backpacks, our morning work was on the board. We had to do pages 10-13 in our map packet Ms. Jensen gave us a few months ago. Then we corrected it after we were finished. Next, we went to the church to pray the rosary. We prayed the sorrowful mysteries. After we prayed the rosary, we went back to class and started our reading stations.

The stations were: computers, comprehension, library, and writing. My group was on writing first. We had to write a letter to the teacher or principal, to persuade something that is not allowed. Next, we went on the computers. We played a game where you have to name all the states in the U.S. Then it was recess. At recess I played Knockout with Josh & Reese. When the bell rang, Ms. Jensen picked us up and went back inside and continued our reading stations.

Next, we were on reading comprehension. We had to do Think and Respond in our reading book. Then our last station was library. I went to the library and read Diary of the Wimpy Kid the Last Straw. Finally it was math. First, we corrected last night’s homework. Next, we did our daily power-up. Then we corrected the. Finally, we did the lesson. The lesson was on triangles and quadrilaterals and their measurements. Then it was lunch.

At lunch I played soccer. After lunch, we had technology. We had to finish editing our movies. My group’s is on the Declaration of Independence. Also we had to extract the audio. We finished 5:00. Now we are adding titles. Then tech was over. Now we had to do a science test. But we had to correct our pretest. I did a good job. Then we did our test. After we were all finished, we started the maps. Then we packed up and went home. Today was the coldest day ever!

In the morning at 7:55 a.m. we walked in from the playground it was the start of a new day. The first thing we did was to listen to the morning announcements, which included the “Pledge of Allegiance.” After the morning announcements we did our daily Logic Link puzzle. The Logic Link puzzle is a puzzle in which you get clues to figure out were the chips go.

After completing our Logic Link, we took our rosaries and library books and left the classroom. We went to the St. Timothy Library it is located in the Chapter room. I checked out a book about optical illusions. Our second stop was church where we prayed the “Sorrowful Mysteries.” After returning to our classroom we read “Catching the Fire.” The story is about a blacksmith who went to Washington D.C. and displayed his art at the National Mall. Then Ms. Jensen told us to work on our “Invention Project.” Our invention is called the “Arrow Mark” which is a bookmark that slides out to be an arrow pointing at the word last read in book. It was then time to go to snack break.

After snack break we did our daily math. We then corrected our homework. After correcting our homework we did Mental Math. It is a warm up exercise where we do math in our head and time ourselves. This is a good problem solving exercise. We then did Math Notes. The lesson was about transversals. After Ms. Jensen taught us about transversals she let us do five minutes of our homework. Then it was time for lunch.

After lunch, Ms. Jensen told us to collect box tops from our Grade we are representing. Sadly, our 8th grade had no box tops. Then Ms. Jensen told us to work on our State sheets. I worked on several states. We then did our Tuesday packets. We then packed up and waited to go home. At three o’clock we went outside to be picked up by our parents. Another exciting day at St. Timothy’s school.

Good morning, I am the Jensen’s Journalist for Friday, April 3, 2009. My name is Kimberley. Today Ms. Jensen came downstairs to pick the whole class from the playground. When the whole class got in the class, everyone unpacked their bags. After that, everyone did

a logic links that was easy for me. Then the morning announcements came on the intercom. After everybody, finished their morning work everyone either read

or did the egg we started with our grandparents. Then Ms. Jensen gave everyone a spelling test. I got an A on Monday so I did not have to take it today. After that, we did the reading and vocabulary test, which I think I got an A in. Finally the bell rang for snack time.

At snack, I played soccer with my friends. When we got back in, we finished the reading and vocabulary test. After that, we just packed up and wrote our homework down for the weekend because we had Church. At Church, everyone had a good day and was singing the songs. We were at Church because of Palm Sunday that was coming up.

After Church, everyone in the whole school ran over to the tabl

e where they were selling pizza for one dollar. I got one pizza and water for two dollars. The half day was the best Friday ever!

Today we came in from the playground with our teacher 8:00. As we all knew it was
April Fool's Day. Everyone immediately started on their logic link puzzle which is an
activity where you get five, six, seven or eight clues to solve a puzzle.
Next on our list of things to do today was finishing up our maps; which was where we
would pick a state, right the capital, rivers, mountains, etc. The class' next subject was
Religion. In Religion we would learn about the teachers in the Catholic Church which
was on page 163 in our Religion Work Book. We all learned how Peter was the leaderof the 12 Apostles and that one of the Apostles betrayed Jesus. Right after that we all
did a Religion Pop Quiz on the 12 Apostles and the Seven Sacraments. Then we tookout our Rosaries and our Rosary prayers. Then all of the students headed on their way
to the Church to pray the Rosary. When you pray the Rosary you pray 50 Hail Marys,
5 Our Fathers, one Apostle's Creed, one Hail Holy Queen and six Glory Bees. Then
everyone came back to class. Now we went to the next subject which was Language Arts, we learned our lesson on
page 170 in our Language Book. Our lesson was about "subject, verb, agreement."We learned all about it; and watched a quick video on it. Then we had to complete
a page in our Language Workbook to see if we understood our lesson; there were ten
questions. Then there was snack, everyone went outside to eat and play. When wecame in, our class and the teacher talked about the states. Then we all started correcting
our math homework. Our teacher, Ms. Jensen, taught us about "symetric property of
equality." Everyone learned so much from this. Then everyone got started on their math
homework because they all got the lesson very easily. Afterwards, it was finally lunch time
and everyone came running down the stairs to have lunch.
When we came in to our surprise, it was computer class for one hour. The whole class
had so much fun and learned so much from what our computer teachers taught us about
making movies. Our class then sang a song aboiut the states and their capitals right after
computer class. The person singing it was a cartoon chaacter named Wakko Warner.

Next everyone finished up their states that they worked on earlier during the day. Then we
packed up and left the school.

In the morning, Ms. Jensen brought in our class. When we got in, we unpacked. After we unpacked, all of us started our morning work, finishing our maps. Then my class went to the book fair. Afterwards we went to church to pray the rosary. Then, when we came back, it was time for reading. The story for this week is A Do It Yourself Project. Once done with reading the story we broke up into our groups and worked on our inventions. Then it was time for snack.

After snack, it was time for math. During math, we did investigation 9. Then we had a benchmark test. After math, we worked on our homework. Then for a lovely surprise, it was time for lunch.

After lunch, we did our Tuesday Packets. Once we were sorted, we did social studies. Then we worked on our maps. Then we packed up and went to PE. After PE, we all went home.

This morning we started the day with Today’s Quote and Logic Link #53. I think that today’s logic link was pretty easy! After about 20 minutes of working on morning we had music. Today Mr. Howell brought in two different types of instruments. He brought the xylophone and drums. A few f my classmates got to play on the xylophone and made different types of notes. When music was over, we had to finish the rest of our morning work and collect our things to pray the rosary at Church.

            When we got to Church, our prayers started with the Apostles’ Creed. Upon returning to class, we started our spelling pretests, but in the middle the bell rang for snack. After snack, we ended our pretest and corrected it. I got two wrong! Finally Math came. We did a math pretest for homework and we did the real thing today. Since I finished early, I got to read my book.
            Our class has been working on partner inventions, so a little time before lunch we were able to work on them. My partner and I have invented Mutant Makeup. It is mascara, eyeliner, and lip balm combined in one specimen. At 12:20 lunch began. It lasts forty minutes. When we got back to the classroom, Social Studies began. We have been learning about the fifty states in the U.S. During Social Studies, we have been coloring pictures of each state. Afterwards was Science. In our books, we read pages B91-95 and on B95 we did questions 1-3. Now came time to write down our homework and pack up for the ending of a wonderful St. Timothy’s School day!

RRRRRiiiinggg! Goes the school bell. All the kids on the playground stop playing and get in their classroom lines. All the teachers come out talking, laughing, or just smiling. The 5^th grade teacher, Ms. Jensen was absent, so the 3^rd grade teacher Mrs.D, took my class with her class to her classroom.

The 5^th grade sat at a bean shaped table and read for 2 minutes. When Mrs. D. said “Put your backpacks near your classroom door”. Reese found a deck of cards. Most of the class played card games and some read. Around 3: 42 my best friends, Asha, and Selena begin talking, I joined in the conversation.

It was about one of the best substitutes we’ve ever had, Ms. Amanda. Selena had asked who she was. Asha and I told Selena all about Ms. Amanda. Selena looked up and said “who is she?” While we were talking Ms. Amanda stood at the doorway listing to our conversation! Me and Asha turned around and said at the same time “Its Ms. Amanda”! We sounded like twins. Ms. Amanda told the class to follow her to the classroom.

When we got inside our classroom we unpacked, got out our reading book, and read the story Girls think of everything. The story is about inventions we use today that were invented by women. After that we got out our scan tron, privacy folders, paper, and test booklet. Then we took the reading test. Later we took the spelling test. When we finished both test the class worked on a sheet that looked like the cover of the book.

On the sheet you had to make up a name for a book you would write, then color it and on the bottom write what it was about. RRRiiiinnnggg! Snack time! After snack was math we corrected our math homework, and worked in our workbook. 20 minutes later we went to preview the book fair. We had to take our lunch bags because when we would come out of the book fair it would be lunch. There was a lot of things in there books, toys, and other stuff.

After we were done looking at the book fair it was time to have lunch. When we finished lunch we took our social studies test on the 13 western states and their capitals. After the test we had free time. Later we had Stations of the Cross which is when the school goes to the church to stand. When the altar servers get to a picture someone would go to the microphone and, read about what happens in the picture. When station of the cross was done the class went to the classroom, packed up, and went home.

Another great day at St. Timothy School.

This morning on March 25, 2009, we did our 52^nd logic links puzzle. A logic links puzzle is, a puzzle where you use 9 different colored dots, and it gives you clues where to put the dots on the paper. After the puzzle, we read altogether, a scripture reading in page 154 in our religion book. The reading was about the 12 apostles. Then Ms. Jensen taught us a trick on how to remember the 12 apostles.

It is, B-A-P-T-I-S-M-J. B is for St. Bartholomew (a.k.a. Nathaniel). A is for St. Andrew. P is for St. Peter and Phillip. T is for St. Thomas and Thaddeus (first name is Jude). I am for Iscariot (first name is Judas, the one that betrayed Jesus). S is for St. Simon. M is for St. Matthew and Matthias. J is for St. John, James the lesser, and James the Greater. After the acrostic trick we went to the front of our church to pray the whole rosary.

We prayed the sorrowful mysteries. After we prayed the rosary we went back to our classroom and continued our invention. My group is making a movie robot. After we started our inventions we went to recess.

At recess I played basketball with Josh and Selena. After recess we did our math power –up in our math workbook on page 88. Then we learned about fractions, ratios, and proportions. After Lesson 88, we did the Unit 2 review in our Language Arts books on pages 157-158. It is about linking main, helping verbs, verb phrases, contractions, and forms of be. After that we went out to lunch.

At lunch I ate a lunchables. We played basketball with Josh and Selena again. We also played soccer with a lot of kids. After lunch we had technology class with Mr. Huy and Mr. Pizzota. We had to take a quiz about everything we learned in technology class. After we were done with the quiz, Mr. Pezzotta showed everyone how to edit our movies.

My group’s movie is on the Declaration of Independence. So, after he showed us how to edit, we started to edit. Our group got 40 seconds of footage done. After technology, we worked on our western states. They are: Alaska, Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Nevada, Montana, Colorado, Arizona, Utah, Hawaii, Wyoming, and New Mexico. After we did that we packed up and went home. That was a hot day because it was like 85 degrees.

Today in class, we learned about the fifty states. Wow, there’s so many I thought to myself! Ms. Jensen told us to locate the rivers, mountain ranges, and important cities in some of these states. Once we had finished our lesson about the states, we went to the library for thirty minutes. I was really excited because we got to read our new story of the week. I’m trying to read as many books a possible so I can record them on my reading log.

When we had left the library, we did our rosaries. Then it was time for recess. During recess, I usually like to play basketball with my friends. Recess was a lot of fun but, before I knew it, it was time to go back to class. After recess, we corrected our math, and worked in our workbook. When we had finished our workbook, we learned about geometric formulas. After the lesson we had a chance to start our homework. I like doing my homework at school because it means I have a lot less to do at home! School can be a lot of fun but, it can also be very busy!

Today I was once again, “Jensen’s Journalist”. I really have no problem with being Jensen’s Journalist. Today, it was too windy and cold for anyone to stand outside, so as soon as we got to the school we had to inside. As the bell rung we all got unpacked and started on our handwriting poem called “What is Life?”. The poem was about life. I think handwriting is easy and my best subject.

If you finished the handwriting then you had to start on your Time for Kids. Time for Kids was mostly about space, and the title was “Are We Alone?” I personally don’t believe in all that mumbo jumbo. Then when you finished you were supposed to be working on the Time for Kids worksheet, usually the worksheets are easy. Then Mr. Howell walked into the room with his big grey electric piano. Once we warmed up our voices, we talked about how Unison is the ratio of 1:1, and the Octave is the ratio of 2:1. Then he said, “ Open your textbooks”.

Afterwards, we sung “Down by the Riverside.” I think “Down by the Riverside” was a nice, fast, uplifting song.

Once music class was over, we worked on our morning work. I was nearly done with my TFK {Time for Kids} worksheet. After 10 or 20 minutes, Ms. Jensen told us to take out our privacy folders for our Spelling Pretest. I did okay on it, but I got two wrong, so I got 18/20. Once we finished, we took our rosaries out and prayed. Finally, the bell rung, and we went to recess. Once the end of recess bell rang, we all lined up, came inside and started on math. I don’t like math, and math doesn’t like me either. Today we learned about Using Proportions to Solve Ratio Word Problems, I thought today’s lesson was easy. During math they announced the winners of the Science Fair in our class, and Kelly got first place, Josh got second, Asha got third place, and Selena got fourth place. Then we got out our Science Lab books. I used to be terrible at Science, but now I’m great. Today we were doing a science project about Investigating Potential Energy. Ms. Jensen said, “We had until Lunch to finish”. Today’s project was pretty easy.

The bell rang and it was finally Lunchtime! Once we got back from Lunch we did Social Studies. In Social Studies we were starting a new unit. We are finally starting to do

the 50 states!

Today we did 13 out of the 50 states, and we did the Western states. Today we were coloring the state of Alaska. I didn’t really know that much about Alaska, but now I know a little bit more. The bell rung once again, so we had to write down all our assignments in our a

gendas, and get them signed by Ms. Jensen. We then had to get packed up go home. Another day waits.

The bell rang at 8:00 a.m. Ms. Jensen picked us up early because she was outside watching the kids that got to school early. When we got inside Ms. Jensen said, “Get your chips so you could do your logic links.” I thought the logic links were really easy. It took me about 5 minutes to put the chips on the paper and to color in the circles. Next, we prayed the rosary. That took 15 to 20 minutes. After the rosary we did our reading test on the story Fall Seasons. I thought the test was kind of hard because

of the vocabulary. It took me about 30 minutes to finish the whole test. Since I finished before some students, I did my art project.

Our art project was to make a leprechaun out of paper plates and construction paper. When it was 10:20 a.m. the bell rang. I was so happy because it was snack time. During snack, the student counsel held a bake sale. A bake sale is when the student counsel sells cookies,

candy and juice. I thought the sugar cookie I got was really good. During snack we played basketball. The weather was cold. At 10:40 a.m. Ms. Jensen picked us up from the yard to go inside.

When we got inside, we had to take out our math homework. It took us about 30 minutes to correct our math homework. Next we had our math test. I was so happy because I was the first one to finish the test. When I finished, I continued to work on my leprechaun. By the time all the students finished the math test it was 11:45 a.m. At 11:50 a.m. Ms. Jensen told us to pack up so we could go home. At 12:00 p.m. we left school. Another fun, but short day at St. Tims.

At 8am in the morning the school bell rang. We went up the stairs and went into the classroom. We unpacked our bags and put them on the hooks. Next we did our religion. In religion we learned about Fredrick Douglass. It was a good story. After religion we did

our reading station. In reading stations we did comprehension, computers, word study and library. We finished an awarding book and wrote a letter to our teacher. We also finished our Riley’s farm article.

Then it was time for recess. At recess we ate our food and played soccer. The girls won 7 to 6. We were so happy that we won. After recess we learned about finding unknown factors in math. It wasn’t hard but it wasn’t easy. Our teacher let us work on our math homework.

Then our teacher remembered that we had to make gifts for the ladies luncheon. Our class made St. Patrick poems but we did have much time so our teacher printed a poem off the computer. We decorated them as much as possible. They looked so green and pretty! Then we went into the parish hall and gave the poems to the ladies. They loved them so much that they asked us to read them aloud. I thought we did well.

Then it was time for lunch. After we ate our lunch we played soccer. This time we didn’t keep score. It was fun. After lunch we went up stairs and into the classroom. When we went into the classroom we did our logic links. It was so easy! Then we packed up our bags and went to PE. We had PE from 1: 30 to 3:00. At PE some of the class played soccer and the other half played basketball. Then we played paramedic against the third grade class. We won of course. However, the score was very close 7:6. Then it was time to go home.

We had another great day in the fifth grade.

Today when we got in, we started logic links. Logic links are like a brain teaser and also fun little worksheets.

Since we had no Jensen Journalist today, Ms. Jensen wanted to assign Jensen Journalist quickly. While we assigned Jensen Journalist days Ms. Jensen to

ld us that we can use the camera to take pictures on important things that today. Next we finished our Leprechauns from yesterday. Some students didn’t finished but it was okay.

After that Ms. Jensen called us to pray the Sorrowful Mystery on the rosary. Then we headed over to the Pari

sh Hall so we can get judged on project, some projects were a

lso like Endangered Species, Yeast Feast, and mines Fun with nature. If it was up to me everybody should get an A+. Finally it was recess. During recess nothing really happen we just ate and played.

When we got back in we started math. During math we corrected, did our power-up, and learned our new lesson on Area. After math we open up the bank and the bankers did their job. After the bank it was lunchtime. During lunch we fifth graders played a loving game of tag. Next it was computer class.

In computer class we started to edit our movies. When computer class was over we did science. In science we learned about potential and kinetic energy. Finally we packed

up and went to the parish hall to get our projects to take them home after we went home.

At 8am in the morning the school bell rang. We went up the stairs to our classroom. We unpacked our bags and put them on the hooks. Next we did our logic link puzzle and it was difficult. The reason logic link was hard today is because I thought we didn’t have enough information to complete it. Next we learned about the vision of the church in religion class. The vision of the church includes the body of Christ, people of God, bride of Christ and the pilgrim people. I had a lot of fun learning about this vision.

Then we had language arts. We learned about past, present, and future tense verbs. It was so easy! Then it was time for recess. We ate our snacks and played basket ball. The girls played against the boys however, we didn’t keep score.

After recess we learned about the US customary system in math. It wasn’t hard but it wasn’t easy either. Then our teacher let us work on our homework. Next, we had reading stations. The four reading stations were comprehension, word study, computer, and a verb and adjective sheet. I had to really work at figuring out how to do the verb and adjective sheet. I like the computer best because we had to type a letter to our teacher about an award we would give to a book. The book I chose was The Giving Tree.

Lunchtime is here. After we ate our lunch we made up silly dance moves. We laughed and laughed. Then it was time for social studies. In this class we learned about the war in the north. I really enjoyed learning about the war because we acted out a play about the war. Then it was time to pack our bags and go home.

We had another great day in the fifth grade.

Today we had a substitute teacher whose name was Ms. Coy. We entered the classroom at 7:55 am. Once we unpacked our backpacks we did our daily logic links. After this we read our religion about how we could be a good for God. Ms Coy then said each group would write a slogan of how we can spread our faith. After religion we did our reading stations. They were word study, free rice, comprehension and time for kids.

After the stations we did language arts. We did the extra practice page. After language arts it was time for snack. I had Pirate’s Booty for snack. Then we went inside to correct our homework and our math pretest. We then took our math test that included twenty questions.

At twelve twenty it was time for lunch. After lunch we did technology. We were taping our videos of the Revolutionary War. My group’s video was about the Boston Massacre. When technology was over we packed our books into our backpacks. We had twenty-five minutes to play, so we played quiet ball. Then we heard the bell ring and it was time to go home.

Today we got in and we started logic links. Logic Links are a mind binder our class does for fun. During logic links, we listened to the morning announcement. After everybody finished their logic links, we opened our religion so when we get back from the library we would be ready for it. While we were in the library, our library assistance introduced us to new books, but I just picked out Winnie the Pooh, and Mary Poppins. After the library, it was almost time for recess because a lot of kids were hungry. When we got back we read pgs: 150-151. We learned about the Second Vatican Congress. It was about Pope John XXIII becoming Pope. We wrote three questions that we would like to ask the Pope. I wrote” is it fun being the Pope? Do you speak English? Where were you born?” Next we went on to Reading. In reading, we read my side of the Mountain. This story was about a boy who moved to the mountains and decided to stay on the side his great grandfather owned.

After reading, we did language arts. During language arts, Miss Coy said” You guys are good at contractions.” The whole class was happy to here that. In our workbook we did pg: 35. After language it was recess finally! During recess some of the fifth graders wanted to see who was faster than each other. Sadly recess was over. When we got in, we corrected our math, started our power up, and did our lesson for the day. Lucky we finished our lesson early and got to start and finished our homework and play the fun game of quizmo. The classmates who won quizmo were Kimberley, Sophia, and Asha. After math it was lunch. Nothing happened to us during lunch today.

After lunch, it was Social Studies. In social studies we learned about the loyalist, patriotic, and neutral. It also told us about the women of the war. The soldiers named them Molly Pincher because they would carry the heavy pincher. After we did pg: 46 in our workbook, we did our Tuesday Packet. Lucky for me my Tuesday packet was good. Next it was Science; in science we did a review. When everyone was finished, we got to play a game and group three which was: Kelly, Sharmaine, Nina and Sydni. I just said to myself,”It’s not about winning or losing, it’s about having fun.” Sadly it was the end of the day so we packed up and went home. But lucky for Kelly she won the S.L.E.

Today was one of my favorite days at the fifth grade classroom.

Today I am the Jensen’s Journalist for March 6, 2009. Ms. Coy (the substitute) came downstairs to pick us up from the play ground. When we got to the classroom, we unpacked our back packs. Then we all said the Pledge of Allegiance and the Morning Prayer. After that we did the Logic Links that was on our desk. The logic links puzzle was kind of easy for me! Finally we got into the tests for the day! The first test we had for the day was the spelling test, which I did not have to take because I got a 100% on the pretest.

When everyone else finished the spelling test it was time for the reading and vocabulary test. First we had to listen to the story and read along. The reading and vocabulary test was the easiest reading and vocabulary test I ever took in the fifth grade! Afterwards, Ms. Coy taught us to use a constant factor to solve ratio problems. Then when she was a done teaching us she let everyone do their math homework for the weekend. I finished my math homework so I do not have to do it on the weekend!

Then finally it was time for snack! At snack I read my book and talked to my friends about what they were going to do for the weekend. When we got back it was time to pack up for Church. At Church they talked about the Paschal Mystery and people took the Eucharist. Today was one of the best Fridays ever beside the fact Ms. Jensen was not there today.

Ring. The bell went off at 8:00a.m. We weren’t so happy because Ms.Jensen was out in New York for a meeting with Scholastic. What cheered us up was our substitute was Ms.Coy. Ms.Coy was one of the best subs ever. The first thing we did was get unpacked and get our chips for our logic links. Our logic links is a paper that has 3 circles across and 3 circles down. I really like logic links. There are clues on the left side of the paper and you have to use your chips to solve the clues. I thought it was really hard. It took me about 15 minutes to solve it.

Next we did religion. I thought it was really fun because there was a prayer. I wanted to be the leader but I didn’t get chosen. After religion we did stations. The stations were comprehension, library, computers, and word study. The comprehension was our Time for Kids magazine and a worksheet about the magazine. I kind of dislike the magazine because it is boring. My favorite thing about the magazine was an article about what kids eat for breakfast. During library you go to the class library and read. For the computer station we had to type an article about the field trip on February 26,2008. Word Study was in our workbook. The lesson was about contractions (BOORING).

When we were finished with our stations we had snack. For snack I had chips (it was so good.). It was soooo cold I could hardly move my fingers. My friends and I played basketball. The bell rang at 10:20a.m.

Later we did math. The lesson in math was finding the area of a triangle (it was really easy). Since we had a lot of time left until lunch we had time to do our homework. I finished really early. I finished early so I finished my pretest that was due Wednesday. Before I knew it the bell rang and it was lunch.

It was a lot hotter than it was during snack. For lunch I had beef with rice. It was so good. My friends and I played basketball for a while then we played volleyball.

When Ms.Coy picked us up from lunch we had our social studies quiz. It only took me like 5 minutes or less. Later we did science. The lesson was about friction. It was pretty cool. After we did our science we did language. The lesson was about helping verbs. When we finished language Ms.Coy said,” Write down your homework so we could go to P.E.” Sofi won the SLE. The SLE award goes to the person who acts the best during the day.

At 2:00 p.m. we had P.E. The first thing we did during P.E. was the mile. Grant, Kelly, and I were the only people who did the mile. I ran the fastest J. After we did the mile we played capture the flag. The bell rang at 3:00 P.M. Another productive day at St.Timothy. Until next time, JoshJ.

Today we came in rainy as ever at 8:00. The whole class noticed that we
had a substitute teacher.=0AThe teacher immediately started role call which
is when the teachercalls out your name to see if your here, if you are
you say "Here."Then the announcements came on, and that is when the ple-
dge of Aallegiance and the morning prayer. Our next assignment was called
the=logic link puzzle which gives you 6,7, or 8 clues and 9 chips, and you
try to rearrange the chips so the clues make scene. After that everyone
took the Religion Test which was 20 review questions that you would answer.

We had until 9:00 to complete the Religion Test. Afterward our subs-
titute teacher read us a short story. The sub. asked us all oral questions
so that we could get that done quicker. We then read our vocabulary in
our reading book. Next, we answered oral questions on how well we knew our
vocabulary. Next we read a fable called Aesop's Fables in our reading book.
We (the class) read the fable out loud. Then, we answered five questions
on a piece of paper, the assignment is called "Think and Respond". Our
next assignment is Language Art and we learned about verb phrases. We completed page 36 in our Language Arts workbook and there were twelve questions.

Then we went to have our snack but we ate inside because it was raining
outside.. When it was time to go back to class we completed page 473-474. The lesson that we did was about the Metric System. We all got to start
our Math homework because we finished our lesson early. The entire class
said "that was easy". Then it was just free time until lunch. Of course,
then it was lunch and we all ate and played. When we came in we immediately
started Technology Class with Mr. Huy and Mr. P. We actually got
to start making a commercial for one hour, until Computer Class was over.
Then we read our Social Studies lesson which was about the Declaration of
Independence. After that we all completed page 45 in our Socia Studies work-boo. Finally we wrote down our
assignments and left St. Timothy School.

RRRRiiiiiiiigggg! Goes the school bell. All the kids on the playground stop playing and get into their classroom lines. The teachers come out holding keys, coffee, or books. Some teacher are laughing and looking at their friends. My teacher Ms. Jensen comes out with keys and says to the class “alright guys lets go.” The class follows her up the stairs and into the classroom. The class sees logic puzzles on their desk. They get their chips (not the ones you eat), privacy folders, go to their desk, and work on it. After that we had religion. We learned about respect and disrespect.

We had library after religion. The class read and checked out books. The books I checked out were American girl books. When we got back to the classroom Ms. Jensen gave everyone $200 in class cash. I was so happy! I looked into my empty wallet and shoved the money in there. Next, we had to proof read our partners assay about the field trip at Riley’s farm. My partner was Sofia and we proof read each others assay. RRRiiiiiinnnngggg! Snack time!

Later on after snack the class found computers in the classroom. Ms. Jensen said we were going to type our assay about Riley’s farm. We got our computers and we logged in. Ms. Jensen took control of our computers and showed us what to do. After that she stopped controlling our computers, we did what she showed us how to do until lunch. RRRRRiiiinnnngggg! Lunch time!

The following was math. The class corrected their math homework and after that did their math test. Those who were finished before others read. At 2:00 p.m the class packed up and did Tuesday packets. The last thing to do was read the story for the week, it was called The Skill of Pericles. Phew! What a great day at St.Timothy School.

Today is February 26, 2009 and it is our class’ first field trip! Our day started when Ms. Jensen greeted us in the play yard and arranged the students into groups so that we could all go in separate cars to our exciting field trip. I was in Josie and Mychael’s group and the three of us drove with Mr. Green as our driver. It was a long way to get to Riley’s Farm. It isn’t your typical farm. It is more like a tiny village that teaches people about what life was like during the Revolutionary War. It was like living the life of what we are reading about that time period in our history books. The people who work at Riley’s Farm also dressed like that time period. Even the men were wearing tights! Once we looked around we were ready to start the first part of our visit.

The first part was playing the games that colonist children played during that time. There were a lot of interesting games and I chose to play stick and hoop. It was really hard but I had fun. The next thing we did was to practice being the Lexington Militia. We were helped by a man who was like an army sergeant and he taught us how the militia prepared for war. We didn’t use guns, WE USED STICKS! The man that helped us told us about how his ancestors (great, great, great grandfather) founded Riley’s Farm. He told us interesting fun facts about the Revolutionary War and about how his ancestors founded the farm.

Next we went to a tent where we learned how the colonists paid their taxes! I learned that paying taxes wasn’t fun then and it isn’t fun now.

Right after that we learned about how the colonists lived life in the household. We even met cows and one of their calves was a bull. It was so cute to see. Soon we went into a courtroom and saw an example of how unfairly the British treated the colonists.

The next lesson was how to weave on a loom. It looked very interesting but at first it was hard. I finally began to get the hang of it when Brooked helped me. But the lesson was soon over.

Lunch time finally came and we were given a ration of corn bread, beef jerky, cheese, apples, and lemonade. Right after eating we had a couple of minutes to go to the gift shop.

The end of our wonderful field trip came when we had a fake war with another group using sticks instead of guns of course. ST. TIMOTHY SCHOOL WON THE WAR!!

Once the war ended we spent more time in the gift shop before having to leave. The drive back to school wasn’t too bad because we could take a nap or watch movies during the ride back.

What a fun and educating day we had thanks to Riley’s Farm and Ms. Jensen for choosing it!

Today was the first day of Lent and Ash Wednesday. Lent is when you give up something for forty days. I think fasting this year is hard because this year I am giving up sodas and I drink sodas every day. Once we got inside we unpacked and started on our Logic Links. I thought today’s Logic Link was really easy.

When everybody was finished, we corrected Religion pg. 142. I did pretty good because I got a B+. Once we finished correcting our Religion page we did Chapter 9 Religion Test. I think I did okay because I’m usually good at Religion. We were supposed to read, once we finished the test, but some people were talking. Next Ms. Jensen said, “Take out a piece of handwriting paper.” Then we talked about Lent and about what we are giving up for Lent. Luckily I already knew what I was giving up for Lent. Once we thought about it, we wrote it down and then signed the bottom of the page. We then started on the reading questions called “Think and Respond.” I don’t like doing those questions, but I have to. Afterwards, we got to work on our Narnia Wardrobes. I love drawing but I just don’t like drawing more than one person.

Next, it was finally snack! Once we got back in it was math. Math is not my favorite subject and it has never been. The only time I liked math was in third grade, and that is it. Today we did lesson #73. It was review so all we did was lesson practice. Everybody did lesson practice on the board and only two people got wrong answers. THANK GOODNESS! I wasn’t one of the people that got the wrong answer. Afterward, we got to start on our homework. While we were doing our homework Ms. Jensen told us that we were having lunch at 11:20 am. This was because we were going to have church at 12-1 pm. We usually have lunch at 12:20 and right followed by technology class. It was nice of Ms. Jensen not to cancel technology, all we had to do was switch around our schedule. After the homework we had lunch. It was so much fun having lunch with the little kids.

Once lunch was over we had church. Church was pretty short, but the most important part of today’s church service was the ashes, of coarse. Then we tried to finish up our Narnia Wardrobes, but some of us didn’t. Next was Technology class, which I absolutely love. In this part of technology we are going to make music videos. Silent music videos are when you only play music, but you don’t talk. We are doing a music video on the Boston Massacre. Once Technology was over we went outside to get our lunchboxes from downstairs since we left them for church. Next was Science, where we did our Science quizzes from last week, luckily they were open book. I thought the crossword puzzle on the back was kind of hard. We then assigned who was going in whose car tomorrow for the fieldtrip to Riley’s Farm. The people that are going in my mom’s car are Grant and Nina, and that’s perfectly fine with me. Then we wrote down our homework and got packed up. Once that was done, we watched the last five minutes of Narnia (the older version). Finally it was time to go home! I can’t wait until tomorrow’s fieldtrip!

Hooray today is Mardi gras, which means Fat Tuesday! Ms. Jensen came out, looking serious as usual. When we got in the classroom we unpacked and sat down. We had to do a logic link puzzle that had to be done in 10 minutes, because we had to go to the library today. Just as people were finishing up on their logic puzzles, the phone rang. When Ms. Jensen was done talking she told us that library was canceled. Everybody started saying things like “What!” and “Ohh!”
When everyone had finished the logic puzzle Ms. Jensen said to take out our religion book and a correcting pen. We corrected the religion homework from last night. Three people didn’t do it. Next we got the vocabulary words for this week’s story. We had to write our hypothesis and then see if we were right. After we completed that we listened to a tape reading this week’s story which is called The Greeks and The Romans.
Following that Ms. Jensen read us a story about Mardi gras. Afterwards we took a quiz on the story. When we were done Ms. Jensen passed out a paper that had a mask shape drawn on it. We were decorating Mardi gras masks! Then the bell rang and it was time for snack. When we got back in the classroom we continued with our masks. Everybody’s masks looked awesome! When everyone was done we took several pictures with our masks on. After that we corrected our math homework, and did our fast facts, mental math, and problem solving. After math time it was lunch. When we came in from lunch we finished watching The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and it’s not the one that most people know. It’s the one with the 6ft tall beavers, and the silver witch, and the really fake looking Aslan. Then we did Tuesday packets and wrote our homework down in our agenda. RIINNGG!!! It’s the end of the day, so we get to go home and have as much to eat as possible!! J

When Ms. Jensen picked us up and took us to the classroom, we wrote a quote by Mother Teresa. It was, “If you judge people, you don’t have time to love them.” After we wrote down the quote, we had to read pg. 138-139. Then we had to do the crossword puzzle on pg. 139. After that we had music. In music we did our warm-ups. Then we started a song called “Tumba”. That was the end of music. After music we had a spelling pretest. The words were all contractions. I got 100%. After the test we graded our W.O.W (Word of the Week). After that we went outside to recess.

When recess was over, we did our today’s math power –up. Then we corrected the power-up. After that we did lesson 71. It was about exponents. When the lesson was over, we watched a Tim & Moby video on exponents. After the video we took a quiz on the video. After the quiz we corrected the quiz. I didn’t do so well. After that we started our homework before it was lunch. Then it was lunch.

After the lunch we corrected our social studies test. After that we watched “The Chronicles of Narnia The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. We watched the old version not the new version. We watched 1 hour and 30 min. After Narnia we read pg. B56-B59. Then we had to do #1-4 on B59. Since it was the end of the day we packed up and went home.

Today was a very exciting! We first came in from the yard. Our substitute teacher whose name was Ms. Coy took us into the class. Then we did our logic links puzzle. I thought this one was easy. After that we read for five minutes. Then we read our last 2 chapters of Narnia. We were overjoyed to be finished with our Narnia book.

Then we did religion about the Resurrection of Christ. Ms. Coy announced that we were going to act out the Resurrection of Christ. I thought it was very exiting. My group included Kelly, Sidni, Mychae’l and Brooke. After that we did our Narnia wardrobe. Then we went to the playground for snack.

After snack it was time for Language Arts we were talking about the form of be. Ms.Coy told us to work on page 33 in our language Arts workbook. After Language arts was Math. The first thing we did in Math was to correct our math homework. After correcting our homework we did our math warm up. I accidentally did the wrong pageL.

Then Ms.Coy taught us about Disjoint Events in lesson 70. After she let us finish our math homework. Then finally it was time for lunch. After lunch at 1:00 p.m. we did science. It was about inertia. After science we had time to do our homework, our wardrobe project, and to finish our hearts. We had to pack up early so we could do P.E. for one hour. After P.E. it was time to go home another fun day at St. Timothy SchoolJ.

This morning when we got into class on our desks were logic link puzzles. We are supposed to do the work with colored chips then when you’re all done check it, and color in the answers. As soon as you’re done you go onto the next subject which was religion. In religion the assignment was to read pages       133-135, then answer the questions. (If you had extra time, like me, you could read when you were all done.)

          After that, Ms. Jensen had us all take out a ruler, a pencil, and scissors. When she told us all the directions to what to do, the project came out to a paper wardrobe that you could switch around and become a different side of the paper, where you can draw a different picture. Before drawing the pictures on the paper we had to read in our books about hints on what to draw. My scene was when Lucy first steps into Narnia and meets Mr. Tumnus at the lamppost. Finally after that it was time for snack, although I had a lot of fun with the art project my stomach was growling from hunger, so I was happy for snack!

          After snack was time to correct math. The homework we did for yesterday was lesson 68. Next was page 69 in our math workbook. We had a minute to do 40 fraction questions. For math notes today we got to work on the white boards. Ms. Jensen asked us math questions on converting fractions into decimals. (It was fun!) When we did letters A-H we could read. When lunch was over we had computer class, but before we could go on the computers we had to wash our hands to keep the keyboards clean. The subject today was making a music video with the group you were assigned to. My group was Me, Nina, Sydney, and Sharmaine. Our video was going to be about The Boston Massacre. In computer class for the next 5 weeks we are doing to be working on it.

          Once that was over, Ms. Jensen passed out the social studies’ tests. When I was done I had confidence that I did well! If you had time after the test you could work on coloring the wardrobe. Once everybody finished we put together our Tuesday Folders. Then since it was becoming the end of the day we needed to write down our homework for tonight.

Today everybody rushed in all at different times. It was pouring very hard outsid; this morning.
When it was 8:00 we (the fifth grade class) started our morning work, which was a quote from the bible that wew had to write and second of all The Logic Link puzzle. Our class usualy gets 25 minutes to complete our morning work. If some of us finish early we get to read until the time is up. Next we began our Spelling- Pretest, which wasn't graded because we had just learned the words that day. After that we graded our weekend homework, which was an assignment called Vocabulary word of the week.

Afterwards we read a book that we have almost finished called The Lion, The Witch, And the Wardrobe. Following that is Language Arts;And we had to read page124 in our text book; which was about Linking Verbs. When we were finished we had to complete page 125 in our text book; there was 14 questions. Afterwards we ate our snacks, and some of us played. The boys Reese,Grant, Anthony, and Josh played a basketball game called knock- out. When we came in we imediatly started correcting our math homework. Next we did warm-ups for math.

Our lesson was about writing decimal numbers into fractions. Our class did a lesson practice on their mini whiteboards. At last we all got to start on our math homework; we got so much time that it lasted tell lunch. So now everyone got there lunches and headed outside. The day is almost over but we still have to complete Social Studies pages258-259 with our partners (the person right next to you.) Finaly we write down our assignments and left St. Timothy school to start the process all over again the very next day.

What a lovely brand new day especially because today was free-dress. If you did not want to wear the school uniform you could have worn any clothes you like. Since, Valentine’s Day was tomorrow you were to use pink, red, or white. After school was the Valentine’s Day concert. 5^th grade and 6^th grade were performing together. The bell rang at 8:00 and Ms. Jensen came out to bring us into the classroom. The first thing we did was unpack our backpacks and start on logic links. (When I first looked at the clues they made no sense then after a few minutes of playing with it, it became easy.) After I finally finished I had to read a TFK (time for kids) magazine. (I dislike these magazines.) After reading the magazine I had to do a worksheet on it. I turned in the worksheet, went back to my desk, and then started to read my book for 15 minutes before the Spelling Test started. (I think I did ok on the spelling test.) One word was nine letters long! That word was easy compared to the twelve letter word last week! Right after the Spelling Test the Reading Comprehension and Vocabulary Test were handed out, started, and finally finished. On the reading test I’m pretty sure there was a trick question. I finished early enough that I got to work on my art project before snack time!

After snack finished, Witch by the way was very cold, we were to finish our art project. Art lasted so long that before I and many others could become hungry lunch came. But before I tell you about lunch I will tell you about art. During art Ms. Jensen put on music, but before the second song could start she turned it off and used her I-Tunes to let us hear her favorite song and after that many other I- Tunes songs played most of them were awesome! So as I told you before lunch came quickly after. But because it started to rain lunch was inside n 8^th grade.

During lunch our class split up as we ate, the some groups joined together while others stayed separated during the play or talk time of lunch. Anyway I sat in my chair and talked till the bell rang. What a perfectly splendid lunch!

Art was after lunch as well for people who didn’t finish. Thankfully I finished so I had free-time. During my free-time I was reading a book with my friend Kimberly. P.E. started after and lasted for half an hour before our class’ PARTY! For a solid hour my class had fun. When the super-fun hour was over it was time to clean up, pack up and go home. RRRiiiiiinngg! Goes the school bell. All the kids on the playground stop playing and go into their lines. The teachers come out holding something in their hands. My teacher Ms. Jensen comes out with a special guest. The guest is a person from the Scholastic company. Her name is Ms. Iria. As soon as the class got inside we had a school rehearsal for the valentine concert tomorrow. That took hours. Later we started cutting red, pink, and purple paper into pieces for art. RRRiinnnnngg! Snack time!

When snack was over, the class read the lion, the witch, and the wardrobe. Afterwards we did stations and the stations were comprehension, art, computers, and word study. Following that we got to open 2 boxes from scholastics that were full of books. RRRiiiiinnggg! Lunch time!

Later the guest left and we worked on our stations. Ms. Jensen said “Take your agenda and write down your homework. Raise you’re hand so I can sign it.” That’s exactly what we did. We packed up and went to P.E; we played a nice game of paramedic. A great day at St. timothy school.

In Class the morning me and the class did our math sheet. Afterwards we had a religion test. Then we read for about a good 7 minutes. Then me and the class went to kinder garden to help them with a valentine’s day project. After we came back to read Narnia. Then when we where done we went to a good snack. Then we came back and had a longgggggggg math section. Afterwards we had a tremendous lunch. After we came in and had technology class. Then we a science lesson on how to measure speed. Afterwards we arranged our desk. Then after a long day sadly the day ended.

Today is Tuesday, February 10, 2009. It is a very cold morning but the rain stopped and the sun is out which makes me happy. The 5^th grade’s day started with working on our daily schedules. We turned in our homework and we did a logic puzzle. Next was religion class. We read an example of a parable which is called “The Giving Tree”. When we finished reading the parable we were assigned different parables and we made up skits to go along with the parables we were assigned to. I enjoyed this activity very much but was happy when it was finally time to go to the library. This is my favorite class because I love to read different books. We all checked out our books and went back to our classroom. This week’s book choice for me was “When I Laughing, When I Weeping”.

When we returned to our classroom we read some chapters together of “The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe”. After that we went out to recess and ate our snacks and took a break from school work. Once recess was over we reviewed our math test that was taken recently. Following the review we did a math activity which taught us some more about parallelograms. I saw everyone taking good notes on this. Soon it was time to get ready for lunch.

When we went to lunch everyone discussed the taxes that our teacher charged us and how unhappy we were about giving her our money. What I was upset about is that she taxed us on paper, pencils, and even walking up the stairs! Everyone thought it was unfair and silly so whenever she gives a tax everyone yells we want a teacher not a tax creature! Suddenly it was time for our social studies class. We had a quiz on the lesson about the Boston Tea Party (a story about people being upset about taxes on their tea). After the quiz we reviewed and studied the next lesson. The last things for the day were receiving our Tuesday packets, writing down homework, packing up and getting ready to go home. It was another great day of learning and fun at St. Timothy’s!

At 8:00 a.m. Ms. Jensen picked my class and I up from the yard. Right when we got up into the classroom Ms. Jensen said, “Get unpacked so you can work on your logic links.” Logic links are a paper with clues and you have to determine where the colored chips go. Then after that we did religion. Religion is my favorite subject. Next we did this thing called reading stations. The 3 stations were comprehension, word study, and computers.

Next we had recess. I was so happy because middle school was gone at Astro Camp so my class and 4^th grade got the whole yard to ourselves.

When we got back inside we did stations. Next we did language, I thought it was really easy. During the lesson the bell rang and that meant it was lunch. We weren’t allowed to go outside because it was raining so we stayed inside the whole lunch.

After lunch we continued our language. When we finished that we got the things that we won in the auction yesterday. Every quarter we have a class auction (with fake money). Next we packed up. Finally it was 2:00 p.m. so that meant that we had P.E. (physical education). Since it was raining we had to stay inside again L!!! When P.E. started the coach made a speech about health. Next we played a game called 4 corners. The rules are there is a person with their eyes closed and you have to go in a corner and if the person with his (or hers) eyes closed picks your corner you are out. The next game we played was a game called heads up seven up. It is when 7 people are chosen then they have to choose 7 people that have their eyes closed. If the person that you pick says that you got them you are out.

Today is February 4, 2009, my turn today to do Jensen’s Journalist. Today the sixth, seventh, and eighth grade went to Astro Camp. All the fifth graders, can’t wait to go to Astro Camp, I can’t wait either. It was very quiet today since the sixth, seventh, and eighth graders were gone. Finally, the bell rang we couldn’t wait to go in the classroom because today we were having our classroom auction. Once we got in the classroom we immediately began unpacking and started on our Logic Puzzles.

I thought the Logic Puzzles were pretty easy. Then, if you were done with you Logic Puzzles you could’ve started on your Religion pages 123-125. Religion was pretty enjoyable; we discussed how we should follow the 10 commandments. Ms. Jensen told the class to close our eyes, raise our hands if we say nice words, and is nice, worship our friends and family. When we opened our eyes no one was raising their hands, not even the teacher. Everybody was very shocked that nobody was raising his or her hands, but hey nobody is perfect. Afterwards, in a surprising shock we corrected our Science pretest. Everybody was very accurate. Once we were done, we took our Chapter 6 Science test. I think I did okay. When we finished the test we did an activity worksheet, it was about maps. I thought it was super easy. Finally it was snack! At snack there was only fourth and fifth grade at snack, so it was pretty quiet.

Once snack was over, we corrected our map activity. I got zero wrong I was so happy. Afterwards, was Math? Yep, that’s right we corrected Math lesson 62, and I’ve got to say Math is not my favorite subject. I did pretty good on my homework. Today in Math we learned about Using Prime Factorization to Reduce Fractions. I thought it was almost the same lesson as yesterdays lesson. When we finished doing examples of Prime Factorization, we did lesson practice, there were only four questions. While my classmates were doing there homework the bank had opened. Everybody and I mean everybody was getting money out the bank for the auction. The person who took the most money out the bank was probably Nina; she took $2,000 out the bank. When the bell rang we all went to lunch, forty minutes of quietness. When lunch was over, we had Technology. Technology is always fun, today we learned how to write business letters. It was very fun and it went great with our classroom economy. Ms. Jensen told us to get packed up because she was hoping to do the auction until it was time to go home. The auction is so much fun, there is so many pretty and interesting toys and gifts. I thought today’s day was so much fun.

When I got to school at 7:30, I played basketball until the bell rang. The bell rang, so Ms. Jensen picked us up and went into our classroom and did our morning work. Our morning work was our logic links puzzle, and religion workbook page 121. After that we had music. We practiced our concert music, and did a worksheet. Then we went to the Parish Hall to rehearse our skit and concert music with the 6^th grade. Then we had recess.

After recess we passed out our 2^nd math books because we finished the first one. Next we did our power-up in our math workbook. Then we did lesson 61, which was about Prime Factorization. We had 5 minutes to do our math homework until our spelling pretest. When 5 minutes passed, we had our spelling pretest. It was really hard! Then we corrected the pretest. I got a lot wrong! L Afterwards we graded people’s W.O.W (Word of the Week). All of our words were from Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. We didn’t finish before lunch so we did after lunch. Then it was lunch.

We continued grading other people’s W.O.W after lunch. Then Ms. Jensen hung the W.O.W up. Then we picked other words for this week’s W.O.W. After that we did lesson 5 in our science book. We had to do questions 1-3. When we were done we did lesson 1 in our social studies. We had to do questions 1-6. Then the bank opened. After that we had to pack up and go home. Today was the greatest.

When I got to school I saw almost everybody wearing jeans, because today was jeans for Jesus. All week we’ve been dressing up, because this week is spirit week. Ms. Jensen came out and took us into the classroom. As we got to our desks there were logic link puzzles on all of our desks, as usual. (Today’s puzzle was surprisingly easy)! Once we were finished with the logic puzzles we needed to do the chapter review on pg. 121 in our religion book. (This means we will have a test tomorrowL). Next, the bell rang at 10:20, and it was snack time. Once snack was finished, our class went inside and started reading stations. The stations included reading comprehension, word study, computers, and making a Jamestown map.
BBBBUUZZZZZ!!! Ugh. Great, a fire drill. “Line up and get into alphabetical order!” said Ms. Jensen. So the whole school went out onto the yard and lined up by class. After Mrs. Richmond (the principle) talked, we went back into our classrooms. Our groups continued the station we were working on. As soon as we started the next station Ms. Jensen came up to me and asked if I could clean the mouse cage. At first I thought that was a little weird because our mouse has been dead for months, but then she explained that it was open house tonight, and she needed to put it away.
After I was finished with the mouse cage it was lunch time. During lunch I talked about the beach with Asha. When lunch was over we came inside and Ms. Jensen told us to take out our correcting pens. We corrected the science quiz we took yesterday (I got an A). After, we corrected our science homework from last night. Afterwards, we took another science quiz, which was easy. Ms. Jensen then told us to take out our agendas and write down our homework. When that was finished, we had to clean up the classroom for open house. Brooke and I wiped down some shelves and organized them. The shelves were black, and Brooke even found a dead fly in on of them!! The classroom was really clean when we were done. It was time for PE. Today we played paramedic, which is really fun. Somebody hit me in the wrist with a ball, and it hurt. Soon PE was over, and it was time to go home!! What a fantastified day (a mix between fantastic and fied)!!!!!

Hello! My name is Kimberley, the Jensen’s Journalist for January 28, 2009. Today it was career day! We dressed up as the jobs we want when we grow up. My outfit represented a family court lawyer. Ms. Jensen came down stairs to pick the entire class up from the playground. When my class came up the stairs, everyone got to see the hands they did for Catholic School’s Week. We walked in the classroom and put away our things. The intercom came on and the people were saying the Pledge of Allegiance and the prayer of the day. Once that was done, we had to pull out our Religion book to page 118-119. On those pages, we had to look up certain sayings from different parts of the bible, and we had to draw a sign of God that we have seen.

Once that was finished, people started to talk, so Ms. Jensen made us do Language Arts pgs. 110-111. The Language Arts assignment turned out to be easy. My paper was done before fourteen other people! When we were done, we either got to do writing, or reading. Afterwards Ms. Jensen showed us a website called www.quia.com. The website was interesting because it was a way of using the computer for educational fun games instead of just playing around! When Ms. Jensen was done showing us the Quia Program, it was snack time! At snack time, my friends and I read our books. When we came back from snack, we corrected our math homework lesson 59 and 11A pretest. Once that was finished, we did 11B test and our problem solving equation.

Next, we did a Fraction Finder Drill that spelled the word “crow”. Following that assignment, it was lunchtime. During lunchtime, we played a game called “Potato”. The way we played “Potato” was a person has to hit another person with the ball so that they are not “it” anymore. When lunch was over, we had to wash our hands for Computer Class. Mr. Huy made us retake a survey on how much we have learned over the past few weeks. Next Ms. Jensen gave us a Science Quiz on Chapter 1, Lesson 2. Once that was finished, we had to read Lesson 3 in our Science Book. Then we had a little free time to do our homework. Finally, we presented our “Career Day” occupations and then we packed up for dismissal! It was a great day!

When I got to school at 7:45 A.M, I played basketball until the bell rang. Finally when the bell rang, Ms. Jensen picked us up and went upstairs. Right when we got into the classroom, Ms. Jensen told us to get our library books because we were going to the library. First we had to do the Pledge of Allegiance and the Morning Prayer. Then we went to the library. At the library the librarian, Ms. Gouth, told us about how libraries organize. Then, she told us to find out what number the book is. It was easy! Finally we read and went back to our classroom. When we got in the classroom, we did our logic links puzzle. That was also easy.

After that the whole class read together the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. We read chapters 2 and 3. Then we went to recess.

The next thing after recess, we corrected our math homework. Next we did our warm ups in our workbook. Then, we did our math lesson (lesson 60). Finally it was lunch.

After the amazing lunch, we corrected pages 32, 33, 35, 36, and 37 in our social studies workbook. Then we corrected our Ch. 6 social studies review. Next we had a social studies test and quiz! After the tests, we read and did lesson 3 in our science book. While we were doing that, the bank was open. We also passed out our packet stuff. Since it is Catholic Schools Week, today people dressed up as a literary character. Whoever dressed up, had to give a presentation on the character they chose to dress up as. Then we packed up and went home. That was the coolest day.

Today I am the Jensen’s Journalist for January 23, 2009. Ms. Jensen came downstairs to pick us up from the play ground. When we got to the classroom, we unpacked our back packs. Then we all said the Pledge of Allegiance and the Morning Prayer. When we finished, we turned in our hand project for spirit week on the back desk. That took about a minute to do with all sixteen of us trying to put our poster boards’ down at one time.

Once that was finished, we took the apple notebooks from the computer cart and then Ms. Jensen taught us how to make history timelines on a computer. The subject we used for the timeline was the story from our reading book. The story was called “Pyramids” from Harcourt Trophies in “Theme Three”. Once most of us finished this project, we started doing our reading test from the story “Pyramids” and vocabulary test from the same story. By the time we finished, the bell rang for recess but it was still raining, so we had to stay inside for snack time. At snack time my friend and I went on the computer to play on www.clubpenguin.com.

Once snack time was over, we did a math sheet on mixed and improper fractions being equivalent. Once everybody was finished, we did our CYOA (Choose Your Own Adventure) Story if we did not finish it, www.wikispaces.com to give feedback on other people’s CYOA mistakes, then we went to the website www.freerice.com to donate rice to the poor, and finished our art project. By the time we finished, it was time to write down our homework and get ready to leave for the day. Woo hoo it was a half-day! I love half days!

Today was a raining day so we went straight in the classroom. After arriving in class, we started our Logic Links. Following Logic Links, we went to our computer stations to do our Choose Your Own Adventure and we worked on our Martin Luther King slide show. I really like working on the computers because they are fun to work on and help us work faster on our projects. Martin Luther King, Jr. is one of my favorite heroes and this year I really understood what his fight really meant to me and my country.

Once that was finished working on the computers, the bell rang for Snack, however, it was raining and we were not able to go outside. After Snack, we corrected our math homework with Ms. Jensen and began our Math lesson on Subtracting Mixed Numbers with Re-grouping and she gave us enough time to do our assigned Math homework.

When that was over, we finished up our Colonial Book for Social Studies. Finally, the bell rang for lunch and we all dashed out the door when Ms. Jensen dismissed us. I was so glad that it was not raining because after my friends and I finished eating, I went to play basketball. The bell rang and it was time to go back to class.

Afterwards, Ms. Jensen walked us over to the church to practice for First Sunday Mass which we are hosting and we all have different assignments. I am a Greeter and I a Reader.

At 2:00, it was time for P.E., but we only got play for 30 minutes because it started to rain again. The Coach suggested that we play Four Corners. It had been a long time since we all had played, so we had a ball.

The final bell rang for the day and it was time to go home.

At 8:00 am in the morning the school bell ranged and our class went into the school. Ms. Coy wrote down the homework that we had to turn in. Then we did a math worksheet about circles and numbers. In religion class we directed a film about helping or assisting others when they fall down. Then we read a paragraph about the image of God and divine likeness in everyone. Then it was time for snack and we played tag.

After snack it was time for math. We learned about mixed and improper fractions. Then we corrected our math homework and did a math warm-up. When math was over it was time for lunch. At lunch time we played tag with the sixth graders.

Next we read a story about the pyramids in Egypt. The Egyptians were very smart people and good at building structures. Then it was time for social studies. In this subject we learned about war amongst the Puritans and the southern colonies. Then it was time for technology class. In this class we learned about Martin Luther King, Jr. We had to do a slide show about him. We ran out of time so everyone saved their work. Then our teacher gave us 30 minutes to finish any work we needed to do.

Then it was time to go home. We wrote our homework down and packed up our bags and went home. Yes, another fine day in the fifth grade

Ms. Jensen leads the class to our classroom. As soon as we get inside we see a math puzzle on our desk. We unpack and get the chips and privacy folder and do the puzzle while Kelly checks our agendas. Soon the morning announcements start, after that we finish up the puzzle.

After the class finished the puzzle, the good touch bad touch had been moved up to the morning. We finished the class so we don’t have to good touch bad touch tomorrow. Later on we had science and we finished up our experiment we started yesterday. It was fun until we had to put it away. RRiiinnng! Snack time!

After snack, the class went back to the classroom and we finished up a packet called colonial times to help us with our social studies. We cut, glued, and colored until lunch time. When lunch time was over our P.E couch asked our teacher if we could have P.E for 2 hours and Ms Jensen said yes. The class wrote down their homework and packed up. When we finished packing up we were lined up and ready to go. Ms.jensen said “see you tomorrow.” For P.E we played soccer. What a great day at STS school.

Promptly at 8:00 this morning the bell rang and Ms. Jensen took us inside. Once in the classroom, Ms. Jensen announced that today would be different. Instead of having math after snack it would be earlier. From there we started to unpack. Next, we started religion. In religion we did a page in our workbook with our group. The assignment was to take parts in the play and read it aloud. On the following page we wrote about two things good that we did and one thing to do. When I finished I was instructed to read and start to write to my pen pal in Arizona. Like I said earlier, math was going to be early. So at 8:30am we started to correct our math homework and pre-test. We were interrupted by our school secretary, Ms. Lorraine, for our yearly hearing check-up. I returned at 9am from the test and soon after I started our math test. We were allowed about 45 minutes to take the test, but I used about half an hour to do the test and check over it. After I finished there was an after-test worksheet I had to complete. The instructions were to reduce the fraction to the lowest terms. Once we finished it was finally time for snack.

After snack was over “Good Touch, Bad Touch” was continued. It took so much time that lunch was right after. My lunch consisted of a turkey and lettuce sandwich with mayonnaise on white bread. I also had a juicy orange and fruit roll. String cheese and a Chewy bar were also in my lunch. To finish I had a refreshing Capri Sun fruit punch flavor. Rather than playing on the yard Kimberly and I read a book. Soon after the bell rings and it was time to go inside back to the classroom.

Before going in we are all instructed to wash our hands because we have technology next. During technology the assignment was to copy and paste five paragraphs on Martin Luther King, Jr. from five different websites. I am the last to finish this assignment. By then it was 2 o’clock only an hour left of school! During the last hour our group participated in a science experiment. The goal was to separate the molecules in water by using water, baking soda, an index card, two pencils sharpened on both ends, wires and a 9 volt battery. To conduct the experiment our group had to pour the baking soda into the water attach both wires on the terminals and connect one wire to each pencil. Then we had to poke pencil size holes into the index card and balance it on the cup of water. The electricity flowing made bubbles appear from the graphite of the pencils. Our group had the best bubbles. The five minute bell rang, it was time to pack up and go home. It was another fun day at St. Timothy’s school.

In the morning at 7:55 a.m. we went in for school. The first thing we did was to listen to the morning announcements, which included the “Pledge of Allegiance”. After the morning announcements we did our daily Logic link puzzle. The Logic Link puzzle is a puzzle in which you get clues to figure out were the chips go.

After our Logic Link we got a laptop to write the “Choose your own adventure” essay. I love doing this because we each get our own laptop. Once we were finished, Ms. Jensen accidentally turned off the computers before the computer could finish saving our work. We then went for snack. I missed snack because I needed to serve at a funeral.

After snack break we did “Good Touch Bad Touch”. We then corrected our homework. After correcting our homework we did Math Notes. The lesson was about adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers. Then it was time for lunch. After lunch we did our Tuesday packets. There was a lot of information in this packet. Then, we did our quizzes. The two quizzes included social studies and science. After that, we packed up all our books and wrote our assignments in our agenda. At three o’clock we went outside to be picked up by our parents. Another exciting day at St. Timothy’s school.

Today we came in at 8:00 a.m. and we had a substitute teacher because Ms. Jensen had a meeting today. All the rest of the class came in on time except two people. Then we started our first assignment: the Logic Link Puzzle. That's a quiz where we use chips to solve the questions. When we were done we put our chips away. Next, we started Music. We did warmups by humming sounds. After we hummed, we sang a couple of songs. After that, we did our spelling pre-test which was twenty words we had to spell for practice. Next we corrected the words, if we got 100% we wouldn't have to take the real test on Friday.

Our next assignment was Language. We learned how to make singular possesive nouns. For homework we did page 27 in our Language workbook. We got a heads start on it and if we didn't finish it, it would be homework. Finally, we had our snack breack and ate our snacks and played. When we returned, we reviewed Religion as we were not able to work on it this morning. We quickly moved to Math. Also, before we talked about our Math lesson, we did a warm up which had to be completed in one minute. After that we did problem solving. Then we began our real Math lesson which was about probability and chance.

We did seven examples before we proceeded with the lesson practice. The lesson practice was twelve questions. Our substituted teacher let us start on our homework early, after we finished our lesson practice.
Finally, we went to lunch, ate our lunches, and played for 40 minutes. As soon as we returned from lunch we began reading Social Studies pages 188-193. The pages we read were mostly about the middle colonies. When we finished reading we did an indipendent page in our workbook; page 33. Our subject was Science. We read pages B16 to B21. We read about molecules, compounds, atoms and the periodic table. When we finished reading, we worked on four questions about what we had read. Next, our teacher let us play games and complete most of our homework. We did this for the last thirty minutes of class. Then we wrote down our assignments and left school for the day.

As I got into the schoolyard it was freezing for me because I wasn’t wearing my jacket. It was only a few minutes before Ms. Jensen came out to take us in to the classroom. When we got in everybody had a logic puzzle on their desk. If you finished early you could read if you wanted to. I read New Moon. Once everyone had finished that we moved on to the next subject. We continued to work on our choose your own adventure stories on the laptops. Mine is about mummies and pyramids! We worked on our stories until it was snack. Snack was fun like always.

When we got inside we moved desks, so now I need to get used to my new group. After everyone was in their groups it was math time. First we corrected our homework from last night. After that we did fast facts, mental math, and problem solving. I thought the problem solving was a little hard this time. After we corrected all of that everyone took out a paper for math notes. Today’s lesson was about adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators. It was so easy because we did that last year. Afterwards we got time to get started on our math homework.

Soon it was lunch, which was good because I was staving! During lunch I read New Moon. When we came in from lunch Mr. Huy was in our classroom for computer class. We had to write about what we did over winter vacation. When that was over we did social studies. First we took our quiz and then we read some pages in our book and started on our homework. When social studies was over Ms. Jensen gave us two pieces of paper and told us to measure five and one half inches on both of the papers and then fold it. Then we stapled the right side of the papers and hole punched the left side. It turned out to be a folder for social studies. Then we stuck a picture we colored before on the front of the folder. When everyone was done we wrote down our homework and packed up. Another fun (and tiring) day at school!!!

TWEET TWEET! Right when we got into class we heard our fake bird tweet. At 8:05 a.m. the student council did the announcements. Next we did a thing called logic links. A logic link puzzle is just like a logic puzzle. I kind of thought it was really challenging. Later we did our Choose Your Own Adventure Stories. Everyone was so excited because we got to use our schools laptops. About 20 minutes later we did music. During music we sang a song called Dona Nobis Pachem.

At 10:20 a.m. we heard a bell ring so we knew it was our snack time. During snack I played basketball because basketball is my favorite sport. I thought it was freezing outside, it felt like I was trapped in an icicle.

When we got back in from snack our teacher Ms. Jensen taught us how to play homeworkopoly. Homeworkopoly is like monopoly except if you don’t do your homework you don’t get to play.

After we did that we did our math warm up. Next we put our homework from the night before in our math tray. Our math lesson was simplifying fractions. Since that lesson was review we took out our white boards and did some review. Finally we got to go to the class bank and deposit our paychecks (we have pretend money).

Following we had lunch. I had one of my most favorite lunches a ham sandwich!!! It got a lot warmer than it was during snack. I played basketball again with my friends Reese, Anthony, and Grant. Some of the girls in my class were reading the book Twilight. Even Ms. Jensen reads Twilight. The girls are addicted to that book book.

Once we got in from lunch we had a religion test on unit 2. I thought it was easy. Finally when that was over we did our Tuesday packet. Our Tuesday packet has all our work from the past week in it. Later Ms. Jensen couldn’t decide which quiz to give us next our social studies quiz or our science quiz so she gave us both at the same time.

If we finished our test early we got to get started on our homework. At 2:50 p.m. Ms. Jensen said, “Get packed up so we can go home.” I just love St. Timothy School J.

Today was the first day of school of the New Year; it was great to see my teacher and classmates. Our first lesson was religion, we did unit two review pages 110-111. The chapter was about living the cardinal virtues; a virtue is the habit of doing well that helps you grow in love for God. Next, we got our privacy folders and we did our spelling pretest. I didn’t do to well; I got to take the spelling test on Friday. Once that was done we were assigned The Jensen’s journalists, of course it was I. We also corrected our Choose Your Own Adventure stories. My story is about a girl who goes to her friend’s party and gets trapped in the castle.

Surprisingly, we did Social Studies early; we usually do Social Studies after lunch. We are on Chapter 5, New England Colonies. We learn about the growing season in New England, Town meetings in Massachusetts, Dissenter and Industry. After reading the chapter we worked in our social studies workbook. We were also assigned to color a cover page for social studies. Finally, we had snack, during snack my friends and i talked about our Christmas vacation.

When snack was over we looked over our math test, Ms. Jensen wasn’t a happy camper. I was disappointed about my grade too. We were told to open our math book to page 319, Investigation 5. Investigation 5 was about focusing on graphing, I understood the assignment. Afterwards, we went to lunch, my friends and I continue to talk about Christmas.

When that was over, we continued math, we were handed a logic puzzle. In Science, we did a little experiment on elements. We observed different objects using a magnify glass like a paper clip, penny, graphite in a pencil, and aluminum foil. We also finished reading in our science book B8-B15 and we did lesson I review numbers 1-4. The science experiment was very interesting and enjoyable. If we finished our assignment early we were allowed to work on homework. The day was ending, at 2:45 we wrote our homework in our agenda and got packed up; it is time to go home.

The school bell rung at 8am in the morning. We went into out classroom and Ms. Jensen had already put our homework that had to be turned in on the board. We removed everything from our backpacks and put them on their hangars. Then we learned about the theological virtues which are hope, faith, and love. Next we did reading comprehension at our reading stations. Then we went to the library. The librarian taught us how to summarize a book. We each had to write down the name of two books that we like then we had to write what was meaningful about the books.

Then we went to recess and played soccer. Then we returned back to our classroom to do our math lesson. This math lesson we learned how to convert percents into decimals. Then we did reading stations again. Next we went to lunch and we played soccer for a second time. It was the girls against the boys. You know who won.

We headed back upstairs for social studies. We had a quiz and we learned about Christopher Columbus and watched a video about him. Next we worked on our totem poles. This was fun because we get to learn about symbols that the Indians drew on their totem poles. Some of the symbols were bears, buffalo, and the eagle. The bear stands for strength and courage. The buffalo stands for life and great strength. The eagle stands for divine spirit and intelligence. It was very interesting. Next we had a chance to work on any assignments that were unfinished.

Then it was time to pack up and go home.

Today was a new day. Today we had a substitute teacher- Mrs. Durand. When the bell rung we all went inside and got unpacked. Once that was done we started on a batman worksheet it was on multiplying decimals. After that was done we did religion. In religion we talked about the Holy Trinity. Then we prayed a prayer. Once that was done we read “The Summer of the Swans” by Betsy Byars. When we finished reading The Summer of the Swans, Mrs. Durand read a poem. Just right when she finished we went to the mission’s assembly. The mission’s assembly was very interesting. Afterwards, we went outside for snacks.

Next was math, today in math we learn about comparing and ordering decimal. It was a little complicated but after Mrs. Durand explained in more detail I understood.

When the math was over, we went outside to have an enjoyable lunch. After lunch Ms. Jensen returned to class. We got back to class an opened our social studies book and read Europeans arrived in the Americas. We were also able to start on our social studies homework assignment. It was getting near for school to end, Ms. Jensen told us to close our book and clear off our desk. Afterwards, We got our papers for Tuesday’s package and we got our backpack for dismissal.

In the morning when the bell rang the teacher got us from the yard. Then when we got in we read our morning announcements. Right after we did religion we had music. It was fun. Then the teacher told us to stand up to see if we did our homework assignments. Was not very good. .

Then we did our plays . It was kind of fun. After, we went to snack. I did not play, I just read. When we got inside we did math. It was so not hard!!!!!! Then we had to do our lesson practice before we began to do our homework. Just for a while. After, Ms. Jensen read our pen pals. I got Zoriah. I got her because her note was pretty good.

Finally, we had lunch I was starving . My dad brought me some food because I didn’t bring lunch. I enjoyed it. After I, was done I finished my book. I read A squirrel in the school. It was good. The bell rang and I got in line. After we got in we got time to correct our science. After we did our social studies. Then we wrote down our assignments so that we could finished our totem poles from Fri. Then we got our backpacks and put our books in so that we can leave. Over all that was another wonderful day at St. Timothy School!!!!!!!

The day started as the 5^th grade class went into the classroom and we started doing our daily schedule. We turned in our book reports and we finished our reading stations. After that we took a spelling test. I was luck that I didn’t have to take it because I had done well on my pretest. Next, we had a handwriting test and then started to read this week’s story. Following that we had a reading and vocabulary test. After that I read for a little while and suddenly my stomach was rumbling. It was snack time!

I ate my snack outside and enjoyed the sunshine. Some of the other students played during their snack time and enjoyed it. Then snack was over and we went back inside the classroom. It was time for church and everyone put on their blue or green ribbons. We had a living rosary for an hour in church and stayed for a little while to hear Ms. Jensen tell us about the symbols in the stained glass windows.

Back in class we looked at our past week’s tests to see what grades we got. Then we did our math lesson in the workbook lesson 26. We took notes on our math and I think we all tried to finish as much of our math homework as possible. Lunch soon came and we ate, talked and played for forty minutes.

Then we tried to do more of our math after lunch. Then we studied totem poles and talked about them. We are going to do an art project about them and we had our first art lesson in class about the totem pole project. The time passed quickly and soon we were writing down our homework, packing up our bags, and getting ready to go home and start the weekend and get ready for Saturday's Halloween Carnival at school.

Our class came in today at 8:00a.m. into our 5th grade classroom.

We quickly stated our religion lesson for today, I came in a little bit late so I got strait

to my religion so I wouldn't have to do it later. Ms. Jensen started passing out class cash

for the people that got good grades on tests and quizes. Next we practiced the prayers

The Apostles Creed and Hail Holy Queen.

We then started reading stations which was Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, Word Study,

and Computers. Our group finished all our work except one person that had to do there classroom job.

Then we started talking about our service learning project which was helping out families in need by giving

them animals.

Then we went to snack and ate our snack and played.

When we came in we started making speeches about our service learning project to tell to the

other classes. Who knew it would take us this long!!! By the time we finished our speeches it was

lunch. So we went to lunch and played until that loud bell rang. Next we corected our homework

from last night. After that we took our Science Test, when it was over I heard a kid say

''I don't think I did good''. Finaly we packed up and ended our day by doing P.E. for one hour.

No! Ms. Jensen isn’t here. We have to have a sub today which is Ms. Harner! First we had to wait outside in line for a really long time because Ms. Harner is always late. When we finally got in the classroom we had to do a Saint Patrick’s Day worksheet. Then we corrected the worksheet. After that we did religion. Our lesson was about Anne Frank. Reese read a story that Anne Frank wrote, which was about her trying to think about the good things in her life. When Reese finished reading Kelly asked questions about the story. After religion we did reading. Our story this week is called Number the Stars. Man! Language. Aye!! It’s snack! Math time. First we corrected last night’s math. Then we did our lesson. After that we did fast facts, mental math, and problem solving in our workbook. Yea! Lunch. When we came in from lunch it was science time. We watched a brain pop video about heredity. Afterwards we took a brain pop quiz which was about the video. Next we did Tuesday packets. It seemed like a lot of people got good grades! After that we did social studies then went home!

RIIIIIIIIIIING! Goes the school bell. All the kids stop playing and get in line. I say to myself “Today is going to be a great day!’’ All the teachers come out and everyone looks good today. It is free dress, a bake sell, and a half-day! Ms. Jensen comes out wearing her St.Timothy T-shirt and everybody goes to class. On top of our desk is a time for kid’s packet. We look at the board to see what to do first.

Time for kids packet and worksheet is first. Then we do our religion page. In religion, I learned about the seven sacraments. Next it’s time for the morning announcements. Afterwards it is time for the spelling test that has 20 words. Following is the reading test. For the reading test, we take out our reading books and a sheet of paper. Finally, we hear the bell. Riiiiiing! It’s snack time, and I rush outside to be first in line for the bake sale. I bought 2 sour belt candies, one was a rainbow color and the other looked strawberry.

After snack, we finished up the reading test. Once we were done, we started making our puppet plays. Me and my partner write and talk about the ending of the play. Soon we write down our homework, pack up, and go home. Another great day at ST. Timothy school.

This morning was a windy morning. When the bell rung we all grabbed our bags and headed to the door. Then when we got in the classroom we followed our classroom procedures. Once that was done we studied for our religion test. Next we corrected our religion workbook page that we had done the previous day. Then we finally did our religion test. Next was library. When library was done we finished up our Pablo Picasso pictures. At around 10:15 we had snack.

After snack we corrected our math homework. Of course we did 40 subtraction facts in 1 minute. Once that was done we had learned about the three methods for adding and subtracting mixed fractions. Then when we were finished with our notes we could start on our homework. Every night we have thirty math problems. Afterwards it was lunch. Finally!

When lunch was over we did social studies. Just before we did our social studies test we corrected our workbook page in social studies. Once that was done we had our social studies test. Afterwards we did science. We corrected our homework once again. Then we had a science quiz. The science quiz was on cells and how you relate to your parent or grandparent and if you don’t all. When done we all worked on unfinished work. It was almost 3:00 so we wrote all our homework and got packed up. Then we all left the classroom and went home.

When the bell rang, everybody went in his or her lines. They were waiting for his or her teacher. When Ms. Jensen picked us up we went to our classroom and started to unpack. After that we had to do page 69 in our Religion book. When we finished she gave out bonuses for our Classroom Economy. We get bonuses if we get good grades on tests and if we reach a certain goal.

After she did that we read, “Darnell Rock Reporting” in our Reading book. Then we started two of our Reading Stations. I did Comprehension and Vocabulary. 10 minutes before Recess we worked on our Art Project. It was an Art Project that Pablo Picasso did that only involves people made out of shapes playing an instrument. Finally it was Recess.

When Recess was over we did our Math workbook. In our workbook we got timed for 40 problems, did mental math, and did a word problem. Then we corrected that. We got our Math Tests back. In my opinion we did pretty good. After that we all started a lesson in our Math book. While we were doing that Josh and I opened the bank so people can get or deposit class cash. Finally Lunch!

Afterwards we watched a Science Video that helped us for our quiz we are about to take. After that we started the Science Quiz. Then we corrected our Science homework we did yesterday. Finally we had our quiz. After the quiz we started our Science lesson for today.

When that was over we handed out the papers for the Tuesday Packets, and packed up the packets. Finally we started Social Studies. We corrected our workbook that we did for homework last night. Then we took our Social Studies quiz. Then we packed up and went home. What a nice day of school J.

When the bell rang the teacher came out to pick us up from the playground. Then we read our morning announcements. We had religion pages 67-68. After I was done we started our 7 sacraments. We had about 40 min. When we were done we had our spelling test .

Then we did our reading tests. It wasn’t hard. After it was snack, I was hungry. Snack was at 10:20. After the bell rang the teacher picked us up. It was kind of windy outside. When we got in from snack we this power up test then our math test. It took a while.

Then the bell rang for lunch I was so excited to take a break from tests. I didn’t play as much. But, I stilled played. We had 40 min. for lunch. After the bell rang we line dup until the teacher came . Then the class finished the movies about the Indians. It was such a good movie. When the movie was over we corrected our Socials Studies homework .Then we finished our art projects and started to get packed up for the end of the day. And that was another day at St.Timothy.

This morning Ms. Jensen picked us up from the school yard. We started our morning with Religion. After Religion, we took a dictation test which is when Ms. Jensen says a sentence, and we have to write it down exactly how she said it. Later in the morning, Ms. Jensen made an announcement that the bank was going to be open today. That was exciting because I needed to withdraw some money because I was very low on money.

Next, it was time for Language Arts and we learned about combining sentences and compound subjects. Finally, the bell rang for Snack time and my friends and I ate our snacks and talked about girl stuff. When snack was over, we returned to class to do Math. We learned about angles and we were also reminded that we have a test on Friday. After Math, Ms. Jensen gave us a ton of math vocabulary that we did in class and we even had time to do our Math homework. Shortly after, the bank opened and I went to the bank to make a withdrawal.

When the bell rang, it was time for lunch. During lunch I ate and played with my friends. Today, lunch time was fun. After lunch, Ms. Jensen gave us a Social Studies quiz and we did some work in our workbooks. When we finished Social Studies, we watched a video tape about Plain Indians and it was very interesting. It was about how they lived and what they did for a living. I learned that Plain Indians were very smart people.

After the movie, we went to P.E. Following P.E. we were dismissed to go home.

The school bell rung at 8am in the morning. We went into out classroom and Ms. Jensen had already put our homework that had to be turned in on the board. We removed everything from our backpacks and put them on their hangars. Then we recorded our results about our fungi experiment in our science workbook. No one in our class has grown any fungi except our teacher. I find that mysterious. Next we did our reading stations. Then we went to the library. The librarian taught us about biographies. We each had to write three facts that we learned about different famous people. I wrote my facts about Jackie Robinson.

Then we went to recess and jumped rope. I wish I knew how to double dutch. Then we returned back to our classroom to do our math lesson. This math lesson we learned about multiples of a number. Next was language arts where we learned about nouns and subjects. Then we went to lunch and we played tag. It was hot outside but it was still fun to run around.

We headed back upstairs for social studies. We learned about southwest Indians and watched a movie about them. The main crop for these Indian was corn and they wove baskets with cedar bark. We then took a quiz. Next we had a chance to work any assignments that were unfinished.

Then it was time to pack up and go home.
